Women's Tennis defeats Greenville in 'Battle of the Panthers'

On this stormy afternoon, the Principia Women's Tennis Team traveled to Greenville, Illinois to take on the Greenville College Panthers. Principia started strong in doubles play, taking all three doubles matches as they took a commanding 3-0 lead. After doubles, Principia took five of the six singles matches, clinching the 8-1 victory in the battle of the Panthers.

At 1st doubles, Paige Cooley and Caitlin Carney played steady tennis, coming away with the 8-3 victory. At 2nd doubles, Anh Vu and Hanne Anderson took it to their opponents, starting strong and finishing the match with the 8-1 win. At 3rd doubles, Justine Roy and Lena Carlson played flawlessly as they completed their match without giving up a game, winning 8-0.

At 1st singles, Paige Cooley played her normal strong and consistent game, winning 6-0, 6-0. At 2nd singles, Hanne Anderson also played great tennis throughout. She ended up winning 6-0, 6-0. At 3rd singles, Justine Roy played strong from the baseline, also winning 6-0, 6-0. At 4th singles, Caitlin Carney gave a strong effort to put away her opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 scoreline. At 6th singles, Anh Vu played her aggressive game, dominating from the baseline, winning 6-0, 6-0.

Principia wrapped up their SLIAC regular season schedule, finishing 4-1 and coming away with the 2nd seed for the SLIAC Tournament. They finish up their non conference regular season schedule at Missouri Baptist on Tuesday, April 26th at 4:15 PM.
