The Panthers knew the game plan, and executed it. The women passed well, which led to an effective offense. In fact the Panthers only committed five hitting errors the whole night.
Sophia Hathaway and
Emily Tippetts were hard to stop – each tallying 14 kills with only 1 error. These two picked apart the Spalding defense with their off-speed and pounded plenty down as well.
Emma Herman and
Cha Cha Fisher each served up a couple of aces, and
Nikki Matters led the defense with 11 digs, while Hathaway and
Mia Gill posted 10 and nine digs respectively.
This was a great team victory. There were challenges on the court, but there was such great support from the bench and those on the court that the challenges were overcome, and the Panthers were able to stick with the job at hand.
Principia takes on Westminster College at noon and Blackburn at 2pm tomorrow in Hay Fieldhouse.
