St. Louis, MO. -- Principia Men's Soccer traveled to St. Louis to take on Webster University in a big conference matchup between two of the top teams. Webster came into the game with no losses in conference while Principia has just one loss. Early in the game both teams struggled to really piece together possession and quality chances. Webster was able to take a 1-0 lead 30 minutes into the game with a well placed shot. Following the goal the Panther's quickly responded and dominated possession as well as created a few chances. The second half Principia continued to have control of the game as Webster packed in their defense with 10 players behind the ball. The Panther's determination and intensity finally got them a goal by
Kaleb Keller off of a nice pass from Gabriel Theodoro in the 78
th minute. With a 1-1 score the game went into OT where Principia continued to have more chances with the best of them coming in the final seconds of the game which was unfortunately saved just as the clock ran out. The game finished with a 1-1 tie.
They said it:
"After going down 1-0 we bounced back nicely and really took it to them. We truly believed in ourselves and gave it everything we had. Unfortunately the game ended in a tie but I was proud of the way we fought back."
