Eureka, ILL. -- Principia volleyball began their road trip with a 3-1 victory over the Eureka Red Devils. The 3-1 score most certainly does not tell the story! The Panthers were dominant in game one, mostly due to the fact that Eureka's offense couldn't find the court. They kept swinging, but too many errors for them to have a chance - letting Principia run away with it 25-13. Game two seemed to be more of the same with PC up 18-9, but Eureka woke up and started their comeback. The Panthers stuttered on serve receive, miscommunicated on defense, hit a few too many out, and EC was doing a nice job blocking the ball! It was a fight until the end, but EC took game two 29-27. Game three was the inverse with PC going down 4-10 and things weren't getting any better so Coach Sprague called a timeout at 13-18, and the team bounced back into action erasing the deficit slowly and tying it up 22-22 and eventually winning game three 27-25. Game four had Principia down 0-3, but the Panthers kept at it until they tied it at 9-9 and then took total control for a 25-18 win.
