Men’s Soccer bested by Rose Hulman in home opener

Elsah, ILL.  – The Principia College Men's Soccer team took on the Rose Hulman Fightin' Engineers tonight in a well fought battle for the Panther's first home game of the season.

Rose Hulman walked away with the win tonight, beating the Panthers 2-0.  The Engineers manufactured one goal in each half, even though senior captain David McLeod-Warrick fought hard and had two saves in goal. 

The Panthers out-shot the Engineers 20-8, with six of those shots being on goal for the Panthers and four on goal for the Engineers. 

A Look at the Box Score:
  • 16 of the Panthers 20 shots were in the second half.
  • Rose Hulman had 6 saves compared to the Panthers' 2.
  • Both teams fought hard, compiling 8 fouls per team.
  • The Keller brothers combined for 14 of the Panthers shots (4 on goal).

The Panthers will refocus their efforts this week and then get back on the game field next Saturday in St. Louis against Harris-Stowe State University at 3:30 pm.
