Greenville, ILL. -- Principia beat Greenville in the first SLIAC matchup of the season, but today Greenville controlled the match to beat Principia in three straight games for the season split.
Greenville's big hitters Anna Finch and Abby Freeman led the way for Greenville's offense with 17 and 15 kills respectively.
Sophia Hathaway posted 12 kills (.345) for Principia, with five others adding kills.
Sarah Ungerleider was error free tonight hitting .444 with four kills.
Principia hit well above their average at .223 tonight, but they had too much trouble with ball control to get any offensive momentum going. Prin's defense lacked the grittiness to touch balls to keep them alive and to get to every blocking assignment, and instead watched too many hits and tips go to the ground. The squad played thoughtfully, but needed a bit more conviction to be competitive.
