Principia Men's Soccer traveled to Blackburn College on Saturday for their third SLIAC competition of the season. Â Blackburn's recently renovated field and a sunny crisp fall day made for a perfect gameday environment.Â
Principia established their hold on the game in the first 10 minutes.Â
George Agai scored the opening goal in the 14
th minutes with a well struck shot to the bottom left corner (assist:
Cameron Sellers). Principia out-shot Blackburn 27-0 in the first half.
Two goals in the 77
th minute, first from
Kaden Keller (assist:
Patrick Sherman) and less than one minute later from
Patrick Sherman (assist:
Gastuvas Balukake), helped the Panthers close the door on the Beavers.Â
Mourad Sami scored one more goal for Principia in the closing minutes of the game, making the final score 4-0 in favor of Principia.Â
Nick Klusmeyer made one save in goal, while Blackburn's goalkeeper, Chase Fiedler, made 18 saves.
The Principia men have two very important conference matchups this next week, against Greenville at home on Tuesday, and Iowa Wesleyan at home on Saturday (Oct. 19) for Homecoming. Â
