You win one, you lose one- PC Swim and Dive goes 1-1 for the day

Jacksonville, ILL.  - The Principia College Men's Swimming Team headed to Illinois College to participate in their first swim meet of the season. The team swam against the host Illinois College and Knox College in a tri meet. The men ended up taking one win against Knox (92-24), but fell short to Illinois College (55-139). Throughout the meet they swam 17 "best" times, which was a great start the the beginning of the season.

The men began the meet with the 200 Medley relay. Sophomore Emmett Wainwright (28.77), senior Liam Anderson (30.88), sophomore Thomas Rauschenberger (27.41), and sophomore Christian Moore (28.13) swam to 2nd place for a time of 1:55.19. Wainwright and Anderson started off the bests with their swims during this race.

After a couple of events, Wainwright earned 2nd place in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:03.64. His swim earned a season, unshaved lifetime, and lifetime best! Soon after both Anderson and Moore touched for 1st and 2nd in their 100 Breaststroke, which also added to the number of bests. Those swims earned the team points to push us forward to the total score. The men followed that up with snagging 1-3-4 in the 50 Freestyle! Anderson swam his 50 with a time of 24.49, Rauschenberger with a 25.02, and Moore with a 28.76. Moore captured another unshaved lifetime best for the team!

After a short break, the men were back at it with the 100 Freestyle. Rauschenberger claimed 3rd with a time of 54.31. Wainwright and Moore then followed with 5th and 6th. All three men gained either a season, unshaved lifetime, and/or lifetime best swim, which added to the total of bests! A few swims later, Anderson stepped up behind the blocks to swim the 200 Breaststroke. As the men cheered on the women's team for a couple of events, Rauschenberger was gearing up for his 100 Fly; which ended with a time of 1:06.47 and an unshaved lifetime and lifetime best. Wainwright finished up the men's individual swims with swimming the 400 IM, where he snatched 2nd place from his competitors.
