Greenville, IL - The men lost their 5th conference game at the hand of #3 ranked Greenville University, 0-4.
After an encouraging match versus Westminster, Principia struggled to find their ground defensively. Then, in the 25th minute, Greenville would open the scoring. The Greenville attack would continue all night with another goal in the 27th minute and two more in the second half. Leading the match offensively for Principia was forward Patrick Sherman and holding midfielder Reginald Kiwhele. The pair combined for eight total shots, three on the frame. Principia's best opportunity came on an exciting run from midfielder Delwys Glokpor, who slipped Patrick Sherman through on a shot that the Greenville keeper would block. But, ultimately, the men's offensive effort wouldn't be enough to score.
"There was a lot of hard work from our team tonight. Defensively we were not winning the ball in the areas we wanted to win it. When we did win the ball, we were not connecting as we have been recent. A lot of credit goes to Greenville and the amount of pressure they put on us on both sides of the ball. However, I feel they are a team we can compete with, so we have some work to do," Head Coach Jess Semnacher commentated.
Up Next: Principia will face Spalding University as they visit Elsah, Illinois, this Saturday, October 2nd, at 1:00 PM.
