ELSAH, IL – On Tuesday night, the Principia Women's Soccer team took on Westminster College at home in an evening kickoff. The Panthers struggled to get much offensive going against a strong opponent, dropping the contest 3-0.
The Panthers played a sound defensive first half, only conceding one goal through the first 44 minutes, but a mistake on a corner kick with 13 seconds left in the half gave the visiting Blue Jays a 2-0 lead going into the break.
Principia would bounce back, playing a more spirited and together second half, causing Westminster some defensive problems but couldn't manage to hit the back of the net. A third goal from the visitors in the 54
th minute was the final tally of the game.
