Five Men's Soccer players earn SLIAC All-Conference honors

ELSAH, IL – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference handed out their 2022 Men's Soccer conference awards at the conclusion of the postseason tournament on Saturday. Principia had six athletes receive honors, including SLIAC Newcomer of the Year.

FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
  • Freshman forward Wizzy Afrani: Named SLIAC Newcomer of the Year as the conference's top freshman. Afrani had two goals on the season, both of which were game-winners, and was second on the team in shots (39).
  • Senior defender EG Pierce: As the team's center back and captain, Pierce anchored the Panther back line which allowed the second-fewest goals against in the conference. He also added two goals and an assist on the season. Pierce was named to the postseason All-Tournament Team as well.
SECOND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Torben Rehnert: Led the conference in shutouts (9), save percentage (.893), and goals against average (0.76).
  • Freshman defensive midfielder Christian Tresoldi: A stand-out defender who scored three goals on the season, two of which were game-winners.
THIRD TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
  • Sophomore forward Parker Boyce: Scored three goals on the season and led the Panthers in assists (4) and shots (42).
