LOUISVILLE, KY - The Principia Softball team had their furthest road trip of the season on Saturday to play a doubleheader at Spalding University in Kentucky.
Freshman captain
Avery Cobb, in addition to pitching the first game, went an impressive 3 for 4 at the plate. Cobb continues to lead the team with .357 average on the season.
Gracie Paul added another hit to bring her season total to seven. Overall, the Panther offense remains the biggest challenge. The entire team is dedicated to improving their hitting over the final week of the season. Defensively, the Panthers continued to show growth as they limited errors on the day. As usual, there were several outstanding plays, including outfield catches by
Cate Farson and
Titra Staley, as well as third to first put outs and unassisted tag outs from tennis teammates
Kelsie Huss and
Emma Franklin.
Up Next: The Panthers will play their final home doubleheader of the season on Tuesday evening against Fontbonne as they celebrate senior captain
Rosie Paul. First pitch is at 5 pm!
