ELSAH, IL – The Panthers Men's Soccer team welcomed the Lyon College Scots to Principia campus for the first time as they took on their new new conference foe from Arkansas on Saturday. By the final whistle, the Scots had thoroughly outplayed the hosts and handed Principia a 2-0 loss.
There were very few highlights for the Panthers in this one as they did not generate much offense in the hot conditions. Erik Oliveira from Lyon finished with a brace as he scored once in each half to put the game away. Principia will look to put this game behind them and play like they know they are capable of in their next game on Tuesday.
Up Next: On Tuesday at 6:00 pm, the men will host last year's tournament champions, Greenville University, in their first matchup since Greenville ended Principia's 2022 season in the semifinals.
