Game Recap: Volleyball |

Volleyball falls in tri-match with Westminster and Greenville

GREENVILLE, IL – The Panthers Volleyball team headed over to Greenville University on Saturday to face their fellow Panthers as well as the Westminster College Blue Jays. Despite the 3-0 losses, the team showed determination in their play and were not willing to give up on themselves or their teammates. Many great plays were completed along with great coverage of their hitters and blockers.

Megahn Mellor played tremendously as she led Principia in kills against Westminster with 8, and added another 4 against Greenville. She really showed up in these games with her strong ability to put the ball down and move to the next task at hand. Sam Borton-Center continues to provide constant power at the net and in the back row. She had 5 kills against Westminster and a team-high 7 against Greenville with no hitting errors. Borton-Center also led the Panthers with 16 digs on the day. Dana Galinis added 10 total kills of her own, while Neha Bandrapalli had a team-high 22 assists.

The Panthers are continuing to focus on patience and the understanding of growth. The ladies have been working so hard at executing their training, and it is really showing in their game play.

Up Next: The team returns home to Hay Field House for a conference tilt against Blackburn on Tuesday at 6:30 pm.
