ELSAH, IL – The Principia Volleyball team continued its conference season this week with a home match vs Blackburn on Tuesday evening, followed by an away match at Greenville on Wednesday evening, falling 3-0 in both.
Sam Borton-Center continued to find opportunities to score, behind an ever-increasing blocking performance by
Meghan Mellor and
Dana Galinis. The Panthers had great stretches of play where they ran point-for-point for a half a set, before succumbing to various errors as they look for their first winning set of the season.
Coach Davis said afterwards: "The young Panther team prepared themselves for a challenging season of learning. This week we continue to study video of our performance, make corrections in practice and apply those changes in-game. Progress is hard, but this group of players are working diligently to incorporate knowledge into game play. We have a lot of volleyball left this season to develop, and that excites me for the future."
Up Next: The Panthers will host their first home tri-match of the season on Saturday when they face Spalding University at 10:00 am and Webster University at 2:00 pm. Spalding and Webster will play each other at 12:00 pm.
