GRINNELL, IA – The Principia men's basketball team headed north to central Iowa to take on the Grinnell College Pioneers in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers were looking for the program's first win over Grinnell, but they were unable to overcome the Pioneers high-powered offense and lost 126-89.
Throughout the game, the Panthers struggled with turning the ball over and losing the rebound battle. Despite the loss, the fast-paced nature of the game did allow Principia to score their highest point total of the season with seven Panthers contributing at least 9 points. For the third straight game,
Nolan Simon was Principia's leading scorer, finishing with a season-high 20 points. Simon also finished one rebound shy of a double-double as he and
DeMontrel Jones each grabbed 9 boards.
Eaton Smith finished with 14 points, while
Isaiah Parker and
Bobby Alford III each added 13 points.
Principia will look to get back in the win column in their next game down in St. Louis this coming Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Harris-Stowe State University.
