ROCK ISLAND, IL – The Principia cross country team traveled up to Rock Island to compete in the NCAA DIII Midwest Regional Cross Country meet on Saturday. The midwestis one of the most competitive regions in the country leading up to the national championship meet on Saturday, November 22nd.
The Panther men finished 24th out of 36 teams competing in the region. The top four Principia runners ran a strong team race, crossing the finish line within 30 seconds of each other.
Zach Proctor finished first in a time of 27:31.
Kennett Rampley was second,
Rex Heath was third,
Holland Thomas was fourth, and
Aaron Nutwell rounded out the scoring for Principia as the fifth finisher. On the women's side,
Nina Martinez was the Panthers only competitor, and she represented the team well, running her second fastest time of the season.
This concludes the 2024 cross country season for Principia with the runners now joining the rest of the track & field team as they prepare for the indoor track & field season.
