ELSAH, IL – At the conclusion of the SLIAC Men's Soccer Tournament on Saturday, the conference handed out their 2024 postseason awards, and four Panther players received well-deserved recognition!
SLIAC First Team All-Conference & All-Tournament Team – Leander Linsler
Senior
Leander Linsler received First Team honors as a defender, earning All-Conference for the first time in his career. Linsler finished out his collegiate career strong with his best season as a Panther in 2024. While he anchored the Principia defense as the team's center back, he was also a big contributor on offense, finishing with 5 goals and 1 assist.
SLIAC First Team All-Conference – Christian Tresoldi
Senior
Christian Tresoldi took home First Team honors in the midfield after an amazing final season as a Panther. This was his second time earning All-Conference as he was named to the Second Team his sophomore year. Tresoldi led the Panthers in total points as he finished the season with 6 goals and 5 assists. His was third in the conference with 16 points during SLIAC play and was named Offensive Player of the Week in October after an 8-point week against Blackburn and Eureka.
SLIAC Second Team All-Conference – Effenberg Joya
Junior
Effenberg Joya received Second Team honors as a forward for the second straight season. Joya had another great offensive season as he led the team with 7 goals and 43 shots – good for top four in the conference in both categories.
SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team – Diego Alas
Junior
Diego Alas was a co-captain with Linsler and was both a great a leader and a standout player. Though Alas is a midfielder and didn't rack up goals or assists, he was the engine that made the Panthers go as he was constantly working hard, making exceptional plays, setting up his teammates, and providing the spark that led to offensive chances.
