COLUMBUS, MS / BATESVILLE, AR – The Principia men's basketball team traveled south to Mississippi and Arkansas to face MUW this past Thursday followed by Lyon College on Saturday. The Panthers dropped both contests to fall to 1-5 in conference play.
In Thursday's game vs the Owls, Principia was down by as much as 21 early in the second half before clawing their way to within ten by the end of the game for a 66-56 loss.
Nolan Simon led the Panthers with 18 points, followed by
Eaton Smith with 14.
In Saturday's game vs the Scots, Principia took an early 13-5 lead in the first five minutes. Lyon took over the lead nine minutes in and never gave it back as they steadily built their advantage as high as 32 midway through the second. The game would finish at 82-62 for Principia's third straight loss to open 2025.
Isaiah Parker led the team with 12 points against the Scots.
The Panthers will go back on the road this Tuesday when they take on Greenville at 7:30 pm.
