WEBSTER GROVES, MO – The Panthers men's basketball team showed their potential in the first half at Webster University on Saturday, but faded in the second half and lost 76-64.
Throughout the first half, Principia looked well on their way to pulling off an upset and ending their long losing streak. The Panthers were hitting their shots and getting stops on defense as their lead grew to 35-20 with 4:28 to go in the half. After Webster cut the deficit to eight by halftime, Principia was able to hold onto their lead for the first seven minutes of the second half until the surging Gorloks snatched it away on a big three-pointer with 12:49 left. The Panthers did have a 9-0 run late in the half to cut the Webster lead down to six, but the Gorloks eventually held on for a 12-point victory.
