Principia beats St. Louis College of Pharmacy

ELSAH, ILL-- Tonight was a good match for the Panthers as players immersed themselves in the action, played hard, and beat St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Everyone capable of playing on Principia's team got on the court, and had their chance to go bold and work hard. The panthers won game one 25-17, but struggled through the second game as St. Louis College of Pharmacy continuously blocked Principia's hard hits. Principia lost the second game 19-25.
The beginning of the third game also posed a challenge for Principia as they fought to find their rhythm. What helped them fight through the tough times was their unity. Before the game, players talked about the importance of everyone coming together after each point to support and communicate better, and they followed through with that in the game. Players also hustled together, bringing back balls that had flown all the way to the bleachers.  In the third game, the panthers picked up the momentum and finished the game 25-15. By the fourth game, Principia played their strongest with only one hitting error as a team. They ended with the score of 25-12.
There were many key players that pushed Principia to the win. Christine Nacewicz played solid throughout the whole game, going for bold hits and eliminating errors. She ended the match with seven kills, zero errors, two aces, and two solo blocks. Catherine Speer positively affected the team with her consistent and calm presence. She had no hitting errors and killed half the balls she was set. Isabelle Tetu had six kills, one ace, 21 digs, and no service errors. Tara Edwards earned six kills, zero errors, and three aces. Also, Ally Read played disciplined defense, getting 15 digs.
Principia looks forward to continuing their winning streak as they play Fontbonne away, Tuesday at 7pm.
