PC baseball plays well in Greenville but cannot secure victory losing 15-11

GREENVILLE, ILL. -- After an awesome win over Fontbonne University that ended in the early morning hours, PC Baseball hit the road again to play SLIAC powerhouse Greenville College. PC showed up early, but just could not seal the deal late.

Going into the bottom of the fifth, PC was leading 9-2. However, Greenville put up five runs in that frame to get themselves right back into the game.

Junior ace, Greg Ball, was pitching on short rest, and he battled to keep the team in the game. When Greg exited the game after the fifth inning, PC was leading 9-7. However, the bullpen and the defense could not put a stop to the momentum that Greenville had created in the previous inning. PC ended up losing 15-11.

The bats showed up ready to compete on Saturday as the team pounded out 15 hits. Alan Cheatham, Kit Banko, and Justin MacDonald led the way with multiple hits apiece, while senior Ronnie Meyer had three terrific at-bats.  Jeff Strickland, Spencer Brown, and Matt Bowman also had multiple basehits.

The team plays again on Tuesday night under the lights in Elsah at 6:00 for a doubleheader against Lincoln Christian University. Tuesday night will be Senior Night, so come out and cheer the team on.
