Thousand Oaks, CA --On a windy day at California Lutheran the Principa women's tennis team was blasted by high winds and big forehands. Gusty winds altered play throughout the matches and the Cal Lutheran women were able to handle the conditions with greater ease. The Principia #1 doubles duo,
Hanne Andersen and
Kelly Adams, breezed past their opponents with strong net play and consistent returns. At #2 and #3 doubles the Principia teams were hit with a gale of strong serves and aggressive net play and were not able to get their bearings.
In singles competition
Hanne Andersen was down 4-0 and was making a comeback in her singles when her opponent retired at 4-2 giving Principia a match win. In the other singles matches,
Nathalie DeLoach returned to the courts at #6 singles after being sidelined for a few matches. The complete match scores are listed below.
Principia returns to their own home courts for two matches next week. On Thursday they host Lewis and Clarke and on Saturday, March 21, Rose Hulman will be at Principia. Come out and support the women's tennis team. Yay, women's tennis!Â
