Game Recap: Volleyball |

Volleyball goes 1-1 on the day giving up a season split against Westminster

Fulton, MO. -- Principia volleyball hit the road today for SLIAC rematches against MacMurray and Westminster, and came away from the day 1-1. Principia was in solid control over the Highlanders from the get-go winning in three straight 25-18, 25-17, 25-15. Mia Gill served six in a row to take the Panthers from 17-15 to 23-15. Devon Marunde put together a string of serves in game two that set the table for an efficient win, and Sophia Hathaway served six in a row in game three. The team competed well behind the in-a-row serving to take care of business.

In the second match of the day Westminster had a plan and executed it well. They kept the Panthers scrambling most of the match, and PC just couldn't find their offensive rhythm while stuttering a bit defensively as well. Kudos to Westminster for a fine competitive outing beating PC in three straight sets and evening the season head to head at 1-1.
