Panthers down St. Louis Pharmacy in 3 games

Elsah, ILL. -- A Saturday re-match against St. Louis College of Pharmacy moved the Panthers to 11-2. The two teams faced off in a pre-season scrimmage back in August, and it was obvious both teams had progressed. Pharmacy was tough in the middle, and effective in their off-speed from the pins. The Panthers were working in some new elements to their game, and this match was a good spring board to the next step in our season.

Even though the Panthers won in 3 straight sets, the games were close with Pharmacy making PC work for it. Prin got down 8-13 in game two, but after a timeout the team started to work off-ball and be where they needed to be while pulling away with a 13-4 run gaining a 21-17 lead enroute to the win. Pharmacy controlled the beginning of game three 10-6 over the Panthers. Devon Marunde then served five in a row, and along with tight team play behind her serving PC took the lead 11-10, but Pharmacy was not ready to give up. Pharmacy fought to 15-11 before the Panthers took a timeout, after several lead changes, Principia pulled it out 25-20.
