Clayton, MO. -- The women traveled to Clayton today to play Fontbonne University. Due to a slow start, the Panthers found themselves down two goals pretty quickly. Although they found moments to attack, it wasn't enough to minimize the deficit. The Griffins capitalized on a third goal before the half, leaving the Panthers trailing by three at halftime.
In the second half the Panthers rallied together but it wasn't enough, the Griffins tallied two more goals to end the game 5-0.
Gritty players of the match go to senior Madi Arens and freshman
Kiona Sperr. Their consistent effort helped shift the momentum of the game.
She said it:
"There was a lot of individual heart and effort on the field today, but if we want to be successful it needs to be a team effort. We've got more work to do."
