Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer plays their best game yet

Jacksonville, IL-- The Panthers traveled to Jacksonville, Illinois for a match-up against the Illinois College Lady Blues. During the first 10 minutes of the game, the Panthers found themselves leading 1-0 due to an upper 90 goal by Junior, Brittany Ouellette. It was a team effort with Sophomore, Edner Oloo playing the ball centrally to Senior, Madi Arens who found Ouellette weak side alone. It was Ouelette's first goal of the season. The game was back and forth but the Lady Blues tied the game with a 25 yard shot which pinged the left post and went in goal. The Lady Blues would follow that goal with two more, all shot 20-25 yards out just out of reach of the Panther keeper, Hannah Hathaway. Despite the two goal deficit, the Panthers continued to battle till the very end scoring another goal with eight minutes left when Freshman, Sophie Hills finished off of a free kick by Ouellette. The Panthers ended the half trailing by 1.

The Panthers came out and took control of the second half creating a lot of scoring opportunities, forcing the Lady Blues to play mostly defense. Despite the Panthers' efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net. In the end, both teams were scoreless, finishing the game with the score 3-2.

"Although we did not win on the scoreboard, we are still walking away with a feeling of success. We never gave up, nobody quit, and we fought to the very end; that is a win in my book." - Head Coach, Meagan Fleming
