Greenville, ILL. – The Women's Basketball team traveled to Greenville University to play a game that was postponed from last week. Greenville is number one and undefeated in the SLIAC Conference. The Panthers were short a few players tonight but fought hard to the end. Greenville pressed the first quarter causing costly turnovers. But, by the 2
nd quarter Greenville took off the press and sat back in a 2/3 zone.
Anna Webster, who usually plays at the shooting guard position, stepped in at point guard, with
Nikki Matters unable to play. Anna's leadership and good passing was no surprise.
Good to Know:
Sophia Hathaway had 11 points and 8 rebounds.
Anna Webster had 7 points and
Christina Redington had her best game of the season with 6 points.
They said it:
"This was a tough game due to some players being unable to play.
Anna Webster did an excellent job at point guard and
Christina Redington had some great shots. Everyone pitched in, whether in the game or on the bench. These women never complain or quit."
