Elsah, ILL. – The Women's Basketball team hosted Calvary University and lost 54-78. It was a hard fought game but the Panthers started the game two players short and other players were unable to finish the game. The game was tied 16-16 after the first quarter but Calvary went ahead 32-24 in the second quarter. The third quarter was when some players were unable to play and Calvary outscored the Panthers 29-19. The highlight of the game was that Principia out-rebounded Calvary 46-34. But, turnovers were once again a problem and Principia needs to do a better job protecting the ball. The Panthers were 10 for 10 from the free throw line.
Good to Know:
Sophia Hathaway once again had a double-double with 11 rebounds and 24 points. She also had 3 blocked shots.
Christina Redington was 3 for 7 at three pointers and scored 11 points.
Georgia Rather had 12 points and 8 rebounds. The team's defensive award went to
Beka Petersen who was all over the floor and picked up 9 rebounds and a block.
They said it:
"This was a tough game as the players were forced to play different positions and had a hard time recovering from the 3
rd quarter. Those on the court at the end gave their all and never stopped working."
