Carlinville, ILL. – The Women's Basketball team traveled to Blackburn College on Saturday and lost to the Beavers in a well played game. The Panthers lost the first quarter 12-28 but then played pretty even ball the remaining 3 quarters. Principia shot 39% from the field, 33% from 3 point and 100% from the free throw line. While being out-rebounded by Blackburn, Principia did much better on the boards with 7 offensive rebounds and a total of 37. The Panthers kept the turnovers under 20 with 17 for the game. As always, Principia played hard to the end.
Good to Know:
Nikki Matters scored 36 points, shooting 5 for 11 from the 3 point area.
Sophia Hathaway contributed 18 points overall. Sophia and
Sabrina Netherwood led in rebounds with 13 and 11. Sabrina's 11 rebounds included 3 offensive boards.
