Myrtle Beach, SC. -- The Panthers completed day two at Myrtle Beach with games against Southern Vermont College and University of the South.

Game 1: Principia 5 Southern Vermont College 9
After a tough day one in Myrtle Beach, the Panthers came out ready to play two more games today!  First up was Southern Vermont College.

The Panthers defense struggled to catch routine fly balls. Throughout the game both teams made several errors. There were many plays that were made, though that helped the team get out of tough situations. Southern Vermont got on the board in the first inning right off the bat with three runs, but the Panthers held them off after that for a couple of innings. The Panthers couldn't hold them off for much longer though, and struggled to make simple plays which Southern Vermont made them pay for in the fifth and sixth innings.
Leah Schaefer did an amazing job as pitcher three strikeouts; she refused to give up, and worked really well with Principia's second catcher
Alyssa Hudenburg as she made her debut behind the plate.

Even though the Panthers could not score in the first inning, they did not surrender and ended up scoring in the next three innings. Both
Lauren Daugherty and
Leah Schaefer hit doubles in the game. After fast pitching in the game yesterday, the Panthers had a hard time making adjustments to a slower pitcher.

Game 2: Principia 2 University of the South 10
In the second game, the Panthers could not come through on the board. They fought hard on defense, but not enough to stop the other team from outscoring them. The Panthers did not show up to play and you could tell.

The defense gave everything they had for the first two outs in every inning but when it came to the third of the inning, the Panthers struggled to finish it. The University of the South took advantage of the mistakes made and put up runs that the Panthers could not catch up to.

Offensively, the Panthers could not get the bats going. There were only three hits in the game and one of them was by freshman
Delaney Gatine who hit a triple. The Panthers only scored in the first inning and after that they could not score again. The Panthers were not happy with their result and hope to clean up their mistakes before they play again.

The Panthers play their last games in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday at 9:30 and 11:30 am.
