Lindenwood Lions pounce on Principia Panthers

Elsah, IL—Panthers women's tennis hosted the Lindenwood Lions, for their first match of the year, falling prey 9-0.

A Look at the Match/Game-
Principia #1 women's doubles team, Greer Sprague and Kelsie Huss defended well in the attack of the more experienced Lindenwood team.  The team's top duo were working well together at the end of the match with both staying back and grinding out points.  Our #2, #3  doubles teams struggled to return the powerful strokes and  serves of the opponents and did not pick up a game.

Good to Know-
This team was really tough but our team went into the match with great enthusiasm. They were grateful to have the opportunity to practice, play and compete again. From the results of this match we know what we need to work on for conference play which begins in April.

Coach Quote- "It was great to see the improvement of each player in the last four weeks and we are looking for more growth.  This was the toughest team we will face this year, and  I am proud of our Panthers fighting spirit and desire to compete and play."

Up Next- On Thursday March 11, 2021  at 4:30pm Women's Tennis are taking on Illinois College a Division III team.
