ELSAH, IL - Camila Gomez, Principia's #1 women's tennis player, has been recognized as the SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for March 14-20!
Gomez had an undefeated week to lead the Panthers to a 2-1 record during their trip to South Carolina for the Hilton Head Island Spring Tennis Fest. She dominated her three #1 singles matches vs Stockton, St. Mary's (MD) and Lancaster Bible, as she only dropped three games across six sets. She also played #1 doubles with
Veronica Volkart and only lost seven games in those three matches.
Gomez, the younger sister of the men's #1 Daniel Gomez, transferred to Principia this year and has been playing great tennis all season. She is a very steady player with a powerful forehand and serve. We look forward to watching her play throughout the rest of this spring! Next up is a home match vs McKendree University on Friday, April 1st.
