ELSAH, IL - For the third season in a row, senior
Daniel Gomez has been named the SLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year! Gomez becomes the third men's tennis player in Principia's SLIAC history (1991-2022) to win three straight Player of the Year awards, after Michael LeVan (2004-06) and Jason Wissman (2013-15).
Gomez recorded 28 wins this season (15 at #1 singles and 13 at #1 doubles), while going undefeated in his conferences singles matches. He finishes his Principia career with a 57-12 singles record, which is good for the third best winning percentage and fourth most wins in program history. Congratulations on an incredible career, Daniel!
The entire Principia Men's Tennis top six were recognized with All-Conference honors on Wednesday, mostly on the second team. Gomez at #1 singles was the only Principian on the first team, as Greenville's conference winning team filled up the rest of the spots on the top team.
Sophomore
Rafter Sprague was also the Panthers' representative on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
