COLUMBIA, MO – The Principia Cross Country team traveled to the University of Missouri on Friday morning for one of their bigger races of the season in terms of number of runners and teams present. It was a similar course to Principia's North Farm course, which was good practice on hills for the team's upcoming home meets.
For the men,
Zach Proctor started strong, leading through the first 5K of the race.
Rex Heath tagged along and eventually overtook Proctor, leading the men through the finish with a time of 28:39. Proctor finished not far behind at 29:06. Heath and Proctor continue to build off each other and pull each other forward. For the women,
Sarah Erickson led the way for the Panthers, as she is finding her stride and running strong. She finished the 6K course in 29:14, just ahead of
Laura Mayo in 29:42.

Everyone is showing good signs of progress with 4 weeks left to prepare for the conference meet at Greenville. The team enjoyed the experience of being a part of a bigger, more competitive environment, and watching the Division 1 runners race beforehand was a great learning opportunity.
