Elsah, ILL. -- Principia Women's Soccer hosted the Central College Dutch from Iowa. The Lady Panthers fought hard in the first 5 minutes, keeping position and playing compact defense. In the 9th minute though, the Dutch scored with a shot that went low post.
As the first half carried out, the Lady Panthers kept battling with the Dutch, blocking shots, attacking as a unit and fighting as a strong defensive team. As the Lady Panthers were making substantial progress, the Dutch came back with yet another goal in the 39th minute.
Proceeding into the second half, Principia came out strong and continued to not let up when the Dutch kept attacking in our defensive third.
Libby Lewis had some great saves that kept the team in the game. Unfortunately the Dutch put another two goals on the scoreboard, making the final score 4-0.
Outstanding performances by senior captain,
Emelie Fredrikson, and senior,
Clarice Bruch.
They said it:
"It's nice to see the team continue to fight and prove upon our strengths and weakness. I look forward to a strong showing tomorrow."
