Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer falls to Elmhurst College

Chicago, IL. -- In the second match of the weekend, Principia fell to 0-2 on the season. Warming up in a solid downpour of rain in a suburb of Chicago, the Panthers took on Elmhurst College in a game under the lights.

Elmhurst took an early lead and by the 18th minute, were up 3-0 over Principia. However, for the remainder of the half, the Panthers held them off. Libby Lewis made some solid saves with Emelie Fredrikson having another great game in the back line. Clarice Bruch had a busy first half defending while also making runs up the flank to attack.

In the second half, Principia used almost the entire bench. Madison Arens moved around on the field and had a quality game leading. Hannah Sipe was a spark that kept the team fighting until the end with her speed and tenacity.  Again, even though Elmhurst was a stronger team, the Panthers fought until the end.

Key moment
To keep the fight going, Hannah Sipe worked tirelessly on the flank. Towards the end she continued to fly at their backs and wreak havoc, firing up the rest of the team.

They said
"This Elmhurst team is one of the best teams we will face all year. They're tough, they're athletic, they push us. They show us where we would like to get to."
        -Associate Head Coach Nicole Gervais
