Louisville, KY. – The Women's Basketball team traveled for a SLIAC conference game against Spalding University. Due to some players that were unable to play, the line-up was changed with post player,
Sophia Hathaway starting the game at the point guard position. It was a very tough first half with Principia only scoring 2 points. With only 6 players, the team worked hard and came out the second half determined to improve upon the first half. The Panthers scored 28 in the second half and
Christina Redington led the team at point guard. The Spalding team was aware of our smaller number of available players and were very sportsmanlike in their play.
Good to Know:
Sophia Hathaway led the team in scoring with 14 points and
Christina Redington had 9. The team was led by
Madi Leslie in rebounds with 13.
Rachel McLeod-Warrick scored her last basket as a 19-year-old.
They said it:
"The team responded so well to the adjusted line-up and game plan. With players unavailable, the roster of 6 played until the end and never gave up. We almost had all players score, which has not happened in our recent games."
