Carlinville IL. - The Women's Basketball team traveled to Blackburn College for a SLIAC contest with only 5 players able to play. The "Fab Five" had a tough day, by half time they were down 10-47. Turnovers for the Panthers were costly and Blackburn shot 52% the first half. During half time the Panthers decided to stay determined and to have more fun the second half. They scored 27 points, which actually outscored Blackburn in the 4
th quarter 19-14. Rebounding was even on the defensive sides of the court, but Blackburn outrebounded Principia offensively 18-9. Sophia was the only player at the free throw line and was 1 for 1.
Good to Know:
Sophia Hathaway once again had a double double with 21 points and 15 rebounds She also had 4 blocks while Madie Leslie had 3. Madie scored 12 points for the Panthers.

"This was a tough game as all 5 players had to play 40 minutes. No complaints from them, but just hard work and determination to get better. And they continue to love playing the game of basketball together."

The Women's Basketball will be playing a home game on Feburary 4
th, at 5:30pm against Westminster. The Athletic Department is involved in a month-long sustainability initiative and there will be special events at halftime.
