Panthers Fall to Wash U

Panthers Fall to Wash U

St. Louis, MO – Men's Tennis faced the Washington University Bears and were unable to win a match against one of the top teams in Division III.

A look at the matches:

The Panthers struggled to get much going in doubles. Juan Segovia/Drew Funke at #2, and Rafter Sprague/William Johnson at #3 got a few games before the Bears pulled away. Daniel Gomez and Wyatt Dale had a few points to hold serve early on but couldn't take advantage of their chances. Elliott Matthiesen solidly in his exhibition match as well.

Every court was extremely tough in singles as well, as Wash U put out nationally or regionally ranked players at the #1-4 singles spots. Unfortunately, none of the Panthers were able to get more than two games in their matches.

Good to know:

The Panthers have an opportunity to improve their results against Wash U next Saturday in a rematch against the Bears.

Up Next:

The Panthers play at Westminster College on Tuesday.
