ELSAH, IL – Congratulations to Principia College alum, Tess Rountree, on her selection to the 2024 SLIAC Hall of Fame class!
Tess played volleyball at Principia from 2011-2014 and was one of the best players in conference history. She was a First Team All-Conference selection all four years, but she was especially dominant her junior and senior years when she won SLIAC Player of the Year and was chosen to the AVCA DIII All-Region Team.
Tess was a powerhouse on offense as she used her height and athleticism to hit countless punishing kills. After finishing #3 in all of Division III in both points per set and kills per set her junior season in 2013, Tess continued improving her senior year and finished as the 2014 DIII Statistical Champion for points per set and #2 in kills per set.
Tess holds the SLIAC record for points in one match as well as five of the top six points in a match performances. She also holds the SLIAC record for kills in a five set match and has three of the top seven seasons for both kills and points. For Tess' career, she is second only to fellow Principian, Christina Speer, in points, kills, and kills per set. She also excelled defensively as she is seventh in SLIAC history for both career digs and digs in a season.
Tess shined in the classroom as well as the court as she earned SLIAC Academic All-Conference honors from 2012-2014. She was a three-year captain and holds numerous school records. Tess went on to play professional volleyball in Hungary, Germany, Sweden, Peru, Nepal, and the Philippines. She was inducted into Principia's Gold & Blue Hall of Fame inn 2022.
